The Y has long been regarded as a great place for the youth to find employment, and that tradition has continued at the Bastrop YMCA.
In 2018, the YMCA of Austin was ranked the 27th largest employer in the Austin area, public or private, with 41% of the staff being under the age of 25 years old.
This same year, the Y was nationally recognized as part of Forbes’ first-ever America’s Best Employers for Diversity list. The list ranked the top of 250 diverse employers across all industries. Overall the Y placed 15th and is the top ranked community-based organization. In the U.S., the Y employs more than 250,000 people to serve its 22 million members through a network of 2,700 locations in 10,000 communities. This figure includes full-time, exempt staff, full-time non-exempt, part-time, and seasonal staff.
